The purpose of the Compass Church Worship Ministry is to consistently create an environment of excellent, Christ centered worship through a variety of weekly artistic offerings.

Praise Band

Contemporary and Alternative
If you play an instrument the Praise Band is for you! We have many opportunities for players of all levels. We are currently auditioning Guitarists, Bassists, Drummers, Keyboardists, and Orchestral Instrumentalists (strings, brass, woodwinds, etc). Don’t worry – the audition process is painless.

Vocalists

Worship Chorus

If you love to sing, the worship Chorus is for you. It’s all about coming together as a family to sing and worship. You will have the opportunity to learn basic musicianship skills, but reading music is not a requirement. The Worship Chorus sings weekly in the 9:00 Contemporary Service. Rehearsals are held two weeks prior to the Sunday we sing. Music and Cds are available for preparation.

Worship Ensemble

Contemporary and Alternative
A select group that lead in our Sunday morning worship services each week. Some expectations include: memorizing songs, singing parts and being at rehearsal prior to leading worship on Sunday. Currently we have five vocal teams made of 2-4 members each who rotate throughout the month.
Vocalists who are interested in singing at FPC are given priority if they participate in our Worship chorus the FPC worship choir. Auditions are held monthly simply contact Nathan@compasschurchmc.com to schedule an audition. In the meantime, please continue to attend our Sunday services, commit to the FPC as your church home.

Traditional Choir

Traditional Choir sings weekly at the Padre Traditional Service. It is lead by DAVID ANTHONY DEHNER and sing all types of music, from classical to contemporary, gospel to jazz. This is a great place to come and learn from a professional and grow as a vocalist.

Worship Ministry Volunteer Requirements

  • Have and maintain a genuine and personal, born again relationship with Jesus Christ
  • Attend consistently for a minimum of three (3) months and consider Compass Church to be your home church
  • Are able to commit to at least one (1) full year of ministry
  • Are able to participate in any of the services.
  • Are at least 13 years old.Must attend weekly rehearsals, currently held on either Wednesdays or Thursdays at 6:30 PM
  • Consider your personal spiritual growth and church involvement of highest importance

Auditions (Music Teams)

Don’t worry – the audition process is safe – we promise not to embarrass you, just need to know how you play and sing so we can place you in the right places.

Read the information below very carefully, and we’ll look forward to meeting you!

On The Day Of Auditions

  • Come to the audition at the Main St. Worship Center at least 30 minutes before your audition time so you’re fully warmed up and ready to play.
  • When the panel is ready for you, a volunteer/staff person will take you to the sanctuary for your audition. That’s it! (Please give us at least 3 weeks to contact you after your audition.)
  • We will have a song for you to read on the spot
For The Auditions prepare 1 song in any style or genre that best showcases your abilities

What To Bring

  • Drummers bring sticks,
  • Keyboardists, a Roland RD 700- 88 key weighted keyboard will be provided for you.
  • Acoustic Guitarists bring your acoustic guitar only. Don’t forget your picks, capos and extra strings!
  • Electric Guitarists bring one electric guitar and a simple pedal setup. Make it very easy to setup as you will only have seconds to plug in and be ready to play. An amp will be provided
  • Headphones, we use an in ear monitor system.
